Hong Kong Pools – The Best Places to Cool Off This Summer
When you think of Hong Kong, shopping and dim sum are probably the first things that come to mind – but swimming pools? Apparently, the city has plenty of them, from the world’s highest to an infinity pond on the mountaintop.
With summer just around the corner, a refreshing swim in one of these hongkong pools might be just what you need to beat the heat. Not to mention, swimming offers lots of health benefits like a low-impact workout and stress relief. It’s also a great activity to do with your friends and family, or even on your own for some solo time.
There are many places to enjoy a pool day in Hong Kong, but we’ve picked out some of the best ones to help you make a splash this summer. From the opulent indoor pool at The Ritz Carlton to the natural infinity pool on a scenic mountaintop, these pools are a perfect place to soak up some sunshine and relax with a book or a glass of wine.
With floor to ceiling windows and a mirrored ceiling, this sleek indoor pool at the iconic InterContinental Hong Kong is an experience in itself. This is a pool that oozes luxury and with its luscious menu of snacks and drinks (we’re talking Alaskan king crab rolls, strawberry mirlitons and champagne) a day here is definitely worth the price tag.
What this pool lacks in size, it makes up for with its quirky pink and seafoam green color palette and flamingo decor. This small but beautiful pool is a true oasis in the heart of the city, and because Hong Kong doesn’t allow more than 30% capacity at public pools, you’ll likely have this pool all to yourself for some serious Instagramming.
Another of our favorite outdoor pools is the Kerry Hotel’s, which feels like it’s straight out of a Gatsby movie. From the marbled Roman columns to the striped lounge chairs, this opulent pool area is the epitome of glamour and with stunning views over Victoria Harbour, you’ll be kicking back in no time.
The opulent indoor pool at the ultra-luxe Rosewood isn’t just an amazing place to take a dip, it’s also a great spot to soak up some sunshine and eat delicious food from their in-house restaurant, Asaya. This is a great pool for all the family, but be sure to book ahead as this is a very popular spot for both locals and visitors. The pool is exclusive to guests of the hotel, but you can sign up for their annual wellness membership here to get full access and a slew of other benefits.
